On Friday May 11th, the Two Men and a Truck folks pulled up and began unloading the items they had collected from the community. All of our students benefited from items that were put to use at the Bethel Village campus of Panama City Rescue Mission- pillows, linens, toiletries, food, clothing, laundry soap, cleaning supplies, etc. Some of the children’s toys that were donated were distributed to children of students. Others were placed in our playroom for children to enjoy when they visit. Dishes, trays, pans, and utensils were put to immediate use by our student kitchen manager.
Mary Trench (pictured below) used some items to assist her in moving from Bethel Village into transitional housing and to bless her children, who have been in foster care for the last year. This came at a perfect time as they are now allowed to spend more time with her in her temporary transitional group home. They are awaiting a permanent apartment home where they will be together again as a family. Mary is now working full time at the Panama City Rescue Mission as the Women’s Dorm Supervisor.
It was a wonderful experience for us, to feel the support of the community and have needs met through this campaign.
