Rescue Mission Wish List

Holding a monthly Drive can help with the Mission's daily needs. Each month, you can help the homeless and needy by collecting different types of items for the Mission. Here's how:

1. Publicize the needed list in your church, club, school or office.

2. Set up a collection box/location for the items.

3. Bring the items to the Mission at 609 Allen Avenue Monday through Saturday 9 am. to 5 p.m.

Below are the lists of needed items:

 

Care packages for homeless clients to hand out at Easter

Including deodorant, soap, tooth brushes, tooth paste, combs,  shampoo/conditioner.

Literature/Text Books/Bibles

For educational classes, job training, and leisure. Prefer easy-read Bibles and large print texts.

Affordable Housing and Land for Expansion

Provide the facilities for a separate Women’s program and more room for transitional housing.

Gift Certificates

To cut the overall cost when the Mission must purchase items at local businesses.

Office

Including color copier and copy paper, white cardstock, 3-ring binders, pens and markers, staples, CD-RW 650 MB, computers

Food Services

  • Non-perishable food; #10 cans of vegetables, fruits and meat

  • Sugar and cream packets

  • oatmeal, pancake mix and syrup; gravy mix; and condiments

  • Napkins, paper plates, lunch bags

  • Dry/condensed milk

  • Frozen or prepared food (click here for information on donating food)

Cleaning Supplies

Including bleach, antibacterial spray, laundry and dish detergent, window cleaners, furniture polish, abrasive cleaners etc.

Refrigerated Truck

Estimated cost $45,000 for a truck that will enable the Mission to accept more food donations from local restaurants and grocers.

In Kind Donations

Clothing, furniture, household items, dishes, electronics, linens, toys and automobiles.
