For Immediate Release

Port St. Joe marketing company’s logo design is chosen to represent the 2010 Festival of Trees fundraiser for the Panama City Rescue Mission’s women’s home, Bethel Village

The Panama City Rescue Mission announced the winner of its logo competition for the

2010 Festival of Trees: Christmas Through the Eyes of a Child. Port St. Joe Company, Kerigan Marketing Associates, Inc., www.kerigan.com submitted the winning design, to be used in all the 2010 Festival of Trees promotions.

“We knew we wanted to convey the magic of Christmas,” Panama City Rescue Mission’s Development Director Amanda Bawn stated, “and to children everything looks so much bigger than it really is.”

Kerigan Marketing’s design will help them convey that message, which “ inspired the logo elements of a small child looking up in wonder at a towering present. We think this scene really captures the magic felt by so many children at Christmas,” said Catherine Nol of Kerigan Marketing

Festival of Trees has become a family Christmas tradition and enables local artists and designers to design beautiful Christmas items for charity.  The items are judged in competition and made available for auction. Visitors can enjoy the sights and sounds of the season during special mini-events (by invitation only Nov 30 – Dec 2) or during the general admission (on December 3, from 5 pm to 9 pm)! All proceeds help Bethel Village, the Rescue Mission’s home for recovering homeless women and families.

Additionally, on Friday December 3, the Mission will also host a “Lunch with Santa.”  This fieldtrip, for our schools’ homeless children, allows them to enjoy the beautiful trees, learn about the History of Christmas, meet Santa, and receive gifts.

2009 Festival of Trees Wrap-Up

Festival of Trees was held December 1-4, at the Marina Civic Center and raised over $42,000. Dozens of groups designed and donated uniquely themed Christmas items, which were on display and available for auction. All the funds raised benefit the home for women and families, Bethel Village.

Congratulations to these winners and THANK you to each person who contributed their time, talents, and treasure.
