Nutritious breakfast, lunch and dinner meals are served each day at the Panama City Rescue Mission. Providing food to men, women and children is the first step in building a foundation of hope. PCRM’s meal program provides about 100,000 meals annually to our guests.
It doesn’t take a rainy day in hurricane season or a sweltering 97-degree summer day for the doors of the Panama City Rescue Mission to open to men, women and children in need of a safe place for lodging. When a surge of guests come in due to the rain, heat, or cold, we make special provisions to ensure everyone has a place to rest. The Panama City Rescue Mission provides about 40,000 nights of shelter each year.
Guests come in each day for assistance with employment, housing, ID cards, food, counseling, daycare, bus tickets and a host of other services. The Support Center is the first contact guests usually make at Panama City Rescue Mission.
Guests may obtain vouchers from our Support Center to receive clothing and household items to shop at Panama City Rescue Mission’s two Bargain Center thrift stores. They can exchange the vouchers for the items they need. The thrift stores are stocked with clothes, furniture, and other household goods through regular donations from the community. PCRM’s Bargain Center thrift stores provide our guests in need with about $4,000 worth of clothing and other necessities each month.
